Overview
Platform Enterprise customers have the exclusive ability to extend and align renewal dates for annual subscriptions. This ability is particularly useful when in possession of multiple licenses purchased on different dates and thus renewing on different dates.
With the subscription extension capability, you can choose a renewal date and all of the licenses you'd like to renew on that date, resulting in an aligned renewal date and a single invoice for all selected licenses when it is time for renewal.
Specifying the subscriptions to extend and/or align
Initiating the extension and alignment process
There are three approaches to starting the extension/alignment process.
- Extend only active annual subscriptions:
From the License Dashboard, click the "Extend my licenses" button. This approach enables you to select which active subscriptions to extend. - Extend active annual subscriptions while purchasing new annual subscriptions:
After selecting additional Composers and/or Players for purchase on the Intuiface Pricing page, the shopping cart will offer two possible options.- Align All: Assume all active subscriptions in the account should be extended so their renewal dates match the renewal date of new subscriptions in the cart.
- Select subscriptions to extend: Enables you to select which subscriptions to extend so their renewal dates match the renewal date of new subscriptions in the cart.
In both images above, note how a Platform extension was automatically added to the cart with the selection of a new subscription. This is an application of the mandatory Platform alignment rule. It is not an option.
- Align All: Assume all active subscriptions in the account should be extended so their renewal dates match the renewal date of new subscriptions in the cart.
- Extend new and active subscriptions listed in the shopping cart:
Change the date in the "Annual subscription renewal date" date picker.
Selecting active subscriptions for extension and/or alignment
If coming from the "Extend my licenses" button on the License Dashboard, or from the "Select subscriptions" button in a shopping cart, you will be presented with a list of all active subscriptions, including subscriptions whose upcoming renewals (a date sometime in the future) are canceled.
- Coming from the "Extend my licenses" button on the License Dashboard:
All subscriptions - including the Platform subscription - will be selected by default. - Coming from the "Select subscriptions" button in a shopping cart:
Only the mandatory Platform subscription will be selected by default.
Clicking any column title in the "Select subscriptions" table will cause that column to sort. Sorting will help you to - for example - organize subscriptions by Secondary account, making it easier to identify which subscriptions you'd like to align for a given client.
Using the Align All option for active subscriptions
While in the shopping cart, selection of the Align All checkbox indicates that all active subscriptions scheduled to renew should be added to the cart with an extension matching the renewal date of the new annual licenses in the cart. As noted above, this alignment will simplify the renewal purchasing process by narrowing renewal to only one purchase for all licenses during the year.
Note:
- If you would like to undo a canceled renewal and extend the associated subscription, you cannot use the Align All option. Rather, click the "Select subscriptions to extend" button instead.
- The Align All option is only available if the shopping cart contains a Platform extension.
Changing the renewal date
Changing the renewal date when selecting active subscriptions
When selecting active subscriptions for extension/alignment, use the "New renewal date" date picker in the upper left-hand corner to specify a different renewal date. The "Extension" column on the right will display the number of extension days from the existing renewal date to the new date for each subscription.
- Coming from the "Extend my licenses" button on the License Dashboard:
The date picker (and thus the future renewal date) defaults to the latest renewal date among active subscriptions scheduled to renew. This is the earliest possible renewal date. - Coming from the "Select subscriptions" button in a shopping cart:
The date picker (and thus the future renewal date) defaults to the renewal date of the new annual license(s) in the shopping cart. This is the earliest possible renewal date.
Changing the renewal date to something later than the default day/year will affect all selected active subscriptions and will also extend the renewal date for all unpurchased new subscription(s).
Selecting the OK button at the bottom of this "Subscription Selection" page will add all selected subscriptions to the shopping cart.
Changing the renewal date while in the shopping cart
At any point, the date picker in the upper left-hand corner of the shopping cart can be used to change the renewal date for all items in the cart. The date cannot be earlier than the latest renewal date in the cart before an extension is applied.
Subscription extension rules
- Subscription extensions can only be performed by primary accounts at the Platform Enterprise level.
- Secondary account licenses can be extended and aligned by their Primary account.
- Only annual licenses can be extended.
- Mandatory Platform alignment rules apply. If any Player is extended beyond the renewal date for the account's Platform subscription, that Platform subscription will be automatically extended to match the renewal date. This is not an option.
- Extensions are measured in days and their cost is the daily cost of each subscription - the annual cost divided by 365 - multiplied by the number of extension days.
- The total number of extension days across all Composer and Player licenses in a shopping cart must exceed 90 days.
- Extending a subscription whose renewal has been canceled will undo the cancellation.
- The annual Premium Support add-on can also be extended.
