Why offline activation?

Offline license activation is useful in Internet-deprived environments. For example, government institutions and enterprises with high-security needs may limit computer use to "air-gapped" locations.

Prerequisites

• Platform Enterprise account
  Platform Essential and Premier do not support offline license activation.
• Player on Windows
  No other Player-supported operating system supports offline license activation.

How it works

Retrieve the DeviceKey for each Windows PC

Intuiface Composer and Player each generate what is known as a DeviceKey for each PC on which they are installed. This key uniquely identifies each PC and is encoded in the Intuiface license file. For offline license activation, you must manually retrieve the DeviceKey and forward it to Technical Support.

• Install Intuiface Player (or Intuiface Composer)
• For each device, run (by double-clicking) the IntuiFaceDiagnostic.exe application installed in the same folder as Composer or Player.
  • For a typical installation, look in the folder C:\Program Files\IntuiLab\Intuiface\Player or C:\Program Files\IntuiLab\Intuiface\Composer
    
    
• Click the "Run Diagnostic" button, leaving the Comments field blank. It takes about one minute.
  
• When complete, you will be asked for a location to save a zip file. Choose a location then save the file. This zip file contains, among other things, your PC's unique DeviceKey.
• Open a ticket with Intuiface Technical Support. In the request, provide Support with the zip file and the License Key you'd like to assign to this PC. The License Key can be found on your license dasbhoard.
  
  
  • If licensing multiple PCs, you can submit all zip file / license key pairings in the same Tech Support ticket.
• Tech Support will generate two license files for each PC and send them to you with instructions for where to place them.

Limitations

• Unlike licenses activated while online, an offline-activated license cannot be transferred from one PC to another. The above process must be performed separately for each offline PC.
• Every time a license is renewed, the above process needs to reoccur for each targeted PC.
