Overview
Intuiface experiences are created and edited using Composer; experiences are run using Player. To better understand the differences between Composer and Player, see this article. This article will explain how to open an experience in Composer for editing or in Player for running.
NOTE:
- All of the options below use the Experiences panel found in both Composer and Player. With one exception, all experiences must first be published and - if created by an Intuiface account other than yours, shared with you - to be visible in the Experiences panel. The exception applies to Composer and Player on Windows as they can also open an experience that can be found via Windows Explorer.
- If your goal is to deploy an experience to devices running Player - i.e. to both place an experience on a device with Player and run that experience - check out this automated, web-based, multi-device approach.
This is the Experiences panel in Composer.

Open a local experience not opened before
Every project has an associated .ifx file located at the very top of the project's folder hierarchy. This file is created and updated every time you create and save changes to an experience. This is also the file used to open an experience. (For more about the structure of an Intuiface project, see this article.)

- Select the My Experiences tab.
- Click the Select a project icon.
- Browse to and select the .ifx file associated with your project.
You can also open an experience by double-clicking on the .ifx file itself. Of course, this double-click option will only work if you have already installed Composer.
Open a Windows-based experience directly into Composer's Play Mode
If you have a colleague or client with access to a licensed Composer and you want to limit a particular experience to Play Mode only, do the following:
-
- Manually create a copy of your project in which you've removed the .ifx and .ifx.json files, leaving only the .ifxp file. See the article about project file structure for a look at these files.
- Place this new copy of your project on your colleague/client's machine. See this article for information about copying a project to a new device.
- Tell your colleague/client to double-click on the .ifxp file (noted by its padlock icon). This will open the project in Composer's Play Mode. It will not be possible to open the project in Edit Mode.
