Description
Windows edge swipe gestures can be useful for quick navigation, such as switching between apps or opening the Action Center. But, on touch-enabled devices, these gestures can sometimes interfere with an Intuiface experience.
If you want to disable these edge gestures, especially on Windows 10 or Windows 11, here’s how to do it:
Method 1: Use Windows Settings (Windows 11)
Starting with Windows 11, Microsoft includes direct touch gesture settings in the Settings app. Here’s how to disable edge swipe gestures:
Open Settings (
Win + I)Go to Bluetooth & devices > Touch
Under Touch screen edge gestures, turn off:
Swipe from the left edge of the screen
Swipe from the right edge of the screen
(Optional) You can also disable three- and four-finger gestures at the top of this page for complete touch gesture control.
This is the safest and easiest method for most users, especially on personal or consumer devices.
Method 2: Using the Windows Registry (Windows 10)
For environments where Settings are locked or when managing multiple devices, the registry method offers an alternative.
Caution: Back up the registry before editing.
