Overview
This article describes the process for changing the geographic location used to store a Headless CMS base. You may wish to change the default location to a site that better satisfies intellectual property storage requirements imposed by your or a client's IT organization.
NOTE: You must be an owner of a base to change its storage location
How Headless CMS bases are stored
Headless CMS bases—like all other Intuiface artifacts, such as experiences and analytics data—are stored on Amazon AWS servers. Amazon hosts these AWS servers in various geographic regions around the world.
When an Intuiface account is created, a geographic region is identified as "closest" to that account, and all account artifacts are stored there.
Three geographic regions are available for Headless CMS base storage. In the image below, we map these three regions to the geographies they best serve.
- Americas (N.Virginia)
- Europe (Frankfurt)
- Asia Pacific (Singapore)
Identifying the storage location of a base
To view the storage location of a base:
- Open the Dashboard tab of a base for which you have Dashboard rights.
- Look in the "Base Actions" section located in the upper-right corner of the Dashboard. Here, you will see the current storage location.
Changing a base's storage location
NOTE: You must be an owner of a base to change its storage location.
To change the storage location for a base:
- Click the pen icon to the right of the storage location.
- Click the drop-down list to view the geographic region options for base storage.
- Select your preferred location, then click the "Change" button.
Important note about changing a base's storage location
We recommend that all deployed experiences be restarted in Player or refreshed in a browser after associated bases are moved to new storage locations. This will prevent any possible synchronization problems should synchronization occur during a base storage location change.
