Overview
The following features, products, platforms, and integrations have been discontinued (because they are too old or no longer useful) or deprecated (meaning they have been replaced by something newer). As a result, they no longer receive enhancements, bug fixes, or support. Customers choosing to use any item in this list are doing so at their own risk.
End of Life
- Platforms
- Windows 7: A check of our install base and trial prospects tells us Windows 7 has a very small footprint. Plus, Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 7 in January of this year. As such, with Intuiface 7, Windows 7 will no longer be supported.
- 32-bit Windows: The vast majority of our users are on 64-bit Windows devices (both for Composer and Player on Windows), so it made no sense to stick with support for 32-bit Windows devices. That, too, ends with the launch of Intuiface 7.
NOTE: If you’re using 32-bit .NET Interface Assets, you’ll either have to stay with Intuiface 6 or upgrade those assets for use on 64-bit PCs. - Android 4.4: First released in October 2013, then replaced by Android 5.0 in November 2014, this was a hardy version of Android that last shipped in a product eight years ago. The number of devices on the market running Version 4.4 has reached a level of scarcity that no longer merits evaluation within our Android test suite.
- Products
- Intuiface 6: Users are free to work with Intuiface 6 as long as they need - even after Intuiface 7 launches - but migration is deeply encouraged as we will discontinue support for Intuiface 6 at the end of 2021. This means Intuiface 6 will continue to work after the new year but no additional bug fixes nor OS (incl. security) upgrades will be delivered.
NOTE: Player v.6 will be able to run experiences built using Composer v.7 (with the exception of the use of our new Headless CMS), so there is no reason to delay your switch to Composer v.7. With Player, you can allow schedule and access to dictate when to switch. - IntuiPad: Ah, IntuiPad. Part of Intuiface for about a decade, this remote control for Intuiface experiences was marginalized by App Store requirements, a steady progression of alternative technology, and the ability to control Intuiface experiences through other means. You’re not using it, so you won’t miss it - but we will. Thank you, IntuiPad!
- Licenses
- Perpetual License Use Beyond Version 6: Perpetual license holders (a type of license discontinued a few years ago) will be limited to the use of Intuiface 6 software which, as indicated above, enters end-of-support with the new year. We have a generous migration plan in place for those with Active MSU who wish to jump to the new annual license options introduced with Intuiface 7.
- Integrations
- Analytics connector for Google Analytics: Google is replacing its Universal Analytics solution with Google Analytics 4. Universal Analytics will be end-of-lifed by Google on 1-July-2023, and on that day, we will cease support for our Google Analytics connector. Intuiface will not be supporting Google Analytics 4. The fact is, very few folks seemed interested. That just leaves additional capacity to build more desired features.
