Color model options
When adding color to an asset, collection, button, or shape, there are three color models to choose from:
- Solid
A single color. - Linear Gradient
A progressive transition from one color through other colors to a final color, all along a straight line. An Angle value determines the transition direction of the color change in comparison to a vertical line, which has an angle of 0 degrees. - Radial Gradient
A progressive transition from one color through other colors to a final color, starting with a center point then progressing outwards in all directions as a circle or ellipse. X and Y values represent how far along the corresponding axes - from 0% to 100% - the elliptical shape should extend to the container edge. The edge is met with a value of 50%. A value of 100% means double the number of pixels at 50%.
Working with gradients
For linear and radial gradients
- Add transition colors by clicking anywhere along the color transition bar.
- Change any starting, ending, or transition color by clicking the corresponding marker () at the bottom of the color transition bar and then selecting your color of choice in the color map below it.
- To remove a starting, ending, or transition color, right click the corresponding marker () and select the Remove option in the pop-up menu.
- To flip the color transition bar and thus the order of starting, ending, and transition colors, click the Inverse Gradient button, , to the right of the color transition bar.

Limitations of linear and radial gradients
- It is not possible to animate the "Change color" action if assigning a gradient. The color change will be immediate.
- Outlines and most fonts don't support gradients.
- Fill property of the Timeline and Scroll Collections does not support gradients.
- Rendering of radial gradients in a multi-line Simple Text Asset will look different in Player on Windows than in Player on any other supported platform. The radial shape is larger on non-Windows platforms and can be cut-off by the asset border.
- Rendering of linear and radial gradients with transition colors and an opacity less than 100% will look different in Player on Windows than in Player on any other supported platform.
- Rendering of radial gradients for the Fill property of both the normal and edit states of the Text Input Asset will look different in Player on Windows than in Player on any other supported platform. The radial shape is larger on non-Windows platforms and can be cut-off by the asset border.
- Fill property for the cover of the Document Asset, Book style, will look different in Player on Windows than in Player on any other supported platform for both linear and radial gradients. In Player on Windows, the front and back cover pages are colored independently. On all other Player platforms, the entire cover is colored as a single entity.
- Shapes with wide borders will cut off the rendering of radial gradients at the edge on all Player platforms except Windows.
