Platform Enterprise accounts and Trial accounts created before the introduction of Team Management can choose to remain with legacy functionality - aka Legacy Mode - or upgrade to the new approach. This article addresses Legacy Mode and the upgrade process.
NOTE: Trial accounts are included in this article because they are at the Enterprise level.
Legacy Mode for Platform Enterprise and the Trial
When Intuiface launches Team Management, the My Secondary Accounts page on the My Intuiface website will be renamed and redesigned as a "My Accounts" page. This page will be functionally equivalent to the original My Secondary Accounts page. It will contain a list of your primary and all secondary accounts (if you have any).
As noted below, even in Legacy Mode, an organization has been created for you. The name of your organization is a combination of the email address and company name for your Primary account. You can see details about this organization by clicking the "Edit organization" button in the upper-right of the Accounts table.
Here are the columns:
- Name: The email address of the account. The first row is your primary account.
- Status: Identifies whether the request for the creation of a secondary account has been accepted.
- Sharing ID: A combination of the organization ID and the account ID. Used for experience sharing and license loaning.
- Notes: Any notes you had entered for a secondary account.
- Composer License Access: Identifies whether or not a secondary account has been granted access to Composer licenses in the primary account.
You can continue to invite new users to create secondary accounts by clicking the "Create Account" button. You can also uninvite secondary accounts by selecting them, thereby closing the account entirely. Both the creation and removal processes are identical to the processes you've used in the past.
Upgrade Process
If you would like to take advantage of all Team Management enhancements for Platform Enterprise (and for Trial users), perform the following:
Click the "Activate Team Management" button to enable Team Management capabilities.
NOTE
- Once upgraded to Team Management, Platform Enterprise and Trial organizations cannot return to legacy functionality.
How Primary and Secondary Accounts are migrated
Following migration:
- The Primary account will become the primary account of an organization, and will be named "Primary". The email address associated with that primary account will be granted Owner rights for that organization. The organization name will be based on the company name.
- EXAMPLE:
A legacy Primary account with the email address fox@green.com, for the company Green, will be migrated as follows:-
Organization:
-
ID = fox-green
-
Name = green
-
-
Primary Account:
-
Name = Primary
-
ID = primary
-
-
Owner of Organization:
-
Email address = [primary account email address]
-
Password = [same as the Primary account]
-
-
- EXAMPLE:
-
All Secondary accounts will become additional accounts in the same organization as their original Primary account.
-
EXAMPLE
A legacy Secondary Account with the email address haapala@green.com, associated with the Primary account mentioned above, will be migrated as follows:-
Organization:
-
ID = fox-green
-
Name = [company name of the primary account]
-
- Account:
- Name = haapala
-
ID = haapala
-
User:
-
Email address = [Secondary account email address]
-
Password = [same as Secondary account]
-
-
-
After migration, your Platform tier determines whether you can add new users to each account:
- Essential / Premier: Only one user per account
- Enterprise / Trial: Multiple users per account.
Content Migration
Each migrated account - whether primary or secondary - will retain its content:
- experiences
- licenses
- Analytics data, charts, and dashboards
- credential keys
